Kaychal Labs testing
The most accurate cannabis potency testing in the industry…
Kaychal Labs is the nation’s most trusted provider for cannabis potency testing – leading the industry in methodologies and exceeding mandated standards in applicable states. We utilize Ultra-High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) that goes beyond testing the level of THC and provides detailed cannabinoid profiling across eight other components including CBD and CBN.All Kaychal Labs potency tests are backed by our cannabis certification program that exceeds state testing requirements.
Residual Solvent Testing Services
Kaychal Labs provides residual solvent testing to ensure your concentrates (tinctures, oil, budder, etc.) are free of impurities. Kaychal Labs uses the latest technology and state-of-the-art instruments to deliver fast and accurate results that confirm your production processes are compliant. Kaychal Labs uses Headspace Gas Chromatography to quantify harmful solvents, impurities, or adulterants down to parts-per-million (PPM). Using our Gas Chromatograph with Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID), means we provide the most comprehensive and accurate testing available anywhere.
Microbial Testing Services
Kaychal Labs uses the most advanced and scientifically sophisticated microbial contaminant cannabis testing methodologies in the industry. Kaychal Labs surpasses many state requirements for microbial contaminant testing by looking for pathogens such as Clostridium or growth contaminants like black mold. We also offer a variety of testing options for the edible industry, including food safety testing as well as quality testing for growers.
E. coli, Salmonella, STEC, Total Enterobacteriaceae, Coliform, Total Yeast and Mold, Total Aerobic Count, Aspergillus niger – fumigatus – flavus & Terreus in under 24 hours.
Pesticide Testing Services
Pesticides commonly used in cannabis cultivation are potentially dangerous and pose health risks—the greatest danger occurring with chronic exposure to pesticide residue which is toxic at high levels and harmful at lower doses. Reassure your customers by testing your products for potentially harmful chemicals including insecticides, fungicides, plant growth regulators, and other compounds. Our scientifically validated and comprehensive testing methods enable all screening to be completed on one instrument. Kaychal Labs only uses a mass spectrometer ensuring the maximum number of pesticides are detected and positively identified.
Ensure your cannabis is free of biological contaminants…
Kaychal Labs understands the importance to you and your customers that the cannabis product they use has been tested. We are the nation’s leading provider of advanced testing for biological contamination such as aflatoxin, which is one of the most dangerous mycotoxins that occur as a byproduct of fungal growth on cannabis. The warm, wet conditions ideal for growing cannabis are also conducive to the growth of molds and fungi, many which can’t be seen by the naked-eye, but are highly dangerous and carcinogenic. Using advanced antibody-based preparatory columns and a sophisticated mass spectrometric instrument,Kaychal Labs separately quantifies all four aflatoxins and ochratoxin A.Testing cannabis for aflatoxins is the only way to ensure your marijuana products are free of biological contaminants that can endanger and compromise the health of patients and consumers—and only Kaychal Labsoffers the infrastructure, technology, and compliance that growers, dispensaries, and consumers have come to trust.
Heavy Metals Testing Services
The cannabis industry has a responsibility to provide a safe product to the patients using it. If a grower’s soil or water is contaminated with heavy metals, these toxic elements will be passed into the plant and on to the consumer. Kaychal Labs testing protocols provide MMTC’s the opportunity to learn if their medicine is contaminated with toxic heavy metals.Kaychal Labs uses Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP/MS) to screen samples for metals such as lead (Pb), arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), and mercury (Hg). This extremely sensitive technique allows you to rest assured that the levels present in your product are at safe levels.
Ensure your cannabis infused products are compliant…
Homogeneity testing. The Marijuana Infused Products (MIPs) industry has seen significant and rapid growth recently. The creativity of manufacturers in finding ways to infuse products with cannabis for a broader appeal has been fascinating. The success of these products however, is dependent upon ensuring stability, consistency and meeting stringent health and safety testing mandates. Therefore, homogeneity testing is a key component to a product’s long-term success. As the leading cannabis testing laboratory in the country, Kaychal Labs is equipped with the infrastructure to keep up with volume demands for homogeneity testing. Kaychal Labs uses a validated potency process of Ultra-High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC), with some variations, for THC analysis. We are committed to helping keep your cannabis infused products compliant with homogeneity and labeling regulations, while safe-guarding the cannabis community.
We provide the ability for your MMTC to genetically validate your strain creation and work with your research team to find the products best suited to the patient community. Since, within a given crop, nearly all the DNA of one variety is identical to all other varieties, only small specific regions of the DNA are useful for the purpose of identification. Analysis of a panel of these specific DNA markers produces the DNA profile or “DNA Fingerprint”. The marker panel used is specific to each crop. To identify the variety, the DNA profile of the client’s sample is matched to a reference database that is specific to each crop.
NUTRITION PROGRAM ANALYSIS
Plants are uniquely able to create their own food through photosynthesis, using the sun’s energy to synthesize glucose from carbon dioxide and water. Plants also extract from the air and soil 16 chemical elements that are essential for nutrition, growth and survival.
16 Chemical Elements are Essential to Nutrition, Growth and Survival.
Non-mineral elements – carbon, hydrogen and oxygen – come from the air and water. Beyond irrigation, growers can do little to influence the availability of the non-mineral elements that nature provides. Mineral elements dissolved in water are taken from the soil.
Mineral elements are grouped as macro- and micronutrients, according to their volume consumed by plants and their necessity for plant life.
Chemical Elements Essential to Cannabis Nutrition, Growth and Survival.
macro- and micronutrients for cannabis plants
Macronutrients are mineral elements that plants need in relatively large quantities and that are essential for life:
Primary macronutrients – nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium – are usually the first to be found lacking because plants need the largest amounts of these essential minerals.
Secondary macronutrients – calcium, magnesium and sulfur – are generally present in sufficient quantities. Calcium and magnesium are also added heavily by lime, which is commonly applied to soils as a pH-balancer.
Micronutrients are mineral elements consumed in trace amounts that are essential for robust growth and health, but generally not for survival.
Macronutrients are present in plant tissues in quantities from 0.2-0.4 percent of dry weight while micronutrients are measured in parts per million, ranging from 5-200 ppm.
